Questions, answered

Straight answers about pricing, the free preview, contracts and what happens after your site goes live.

Pricing and payments

How much does a website cost?

New managed website packages are Essential at R799 per month, Growth at R999 per month, and Scale at R1,199 per month. All three are R0 upfront with a free preview before you pay. Tools such as online bookings and review requests, and every other price, are on the Pricing page.

When do I pay?

Only after you approve the preview and are happy with the result. Paystack then takes the first month of the package you chose (Essential, Growth, or Scale). After that, billing is monthly.

How are payments handled?

VertexWeb subscription invoices are paid through Paystack. Paystack's checkout may include card and Instant EFT options it makes available. VertexWeb does not store your full card number. We keep ordinary invoice and subscription records. You can switch off Paystack recurring billing, but invoices remain due until you cancel the service.

What happens if I miss a payment?

You currently have 7 days of grace with the site still online. If it is still unpaid after that, the site is taken offline and comes back on when payment succeeds. There is no extra reactivation fee.

Getting started

Is the demo really free?

Yes. You get a private website preview before you pay. There is no payment obligation for that preview. It is a free sample of the presented design, not an unlimited free build, because it costs us real time and may never become a paying service. You get up to two rounds of changes (reasonable copy, image and colour tweaks on the pages shown) and the preview stays open for 14 days. Replies can take a few working days, longer when we are busy. Extra pages or a new structure may be quoted separately. If you decide not to proceed, you walk away without starting a subscription.

Can I migrate my existing WordPress site?

Yes. Existing Website Takeover starts at R500 per month and migrates, hosts, and maintains your site. It is separate from new Essential, Growth, and Scale builds. Price can scale with the complexity of the site. Ask us for a migration plan on the contact form or WhatsApp.

Contracts and ownership

Is there a contract?

No fixed term. Essential, Growth, and Scale packages are billed monthly. Website takeovers use their own written terms.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Email us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Outstanding invoices still need to be paid. Overdue invoices currently have a 7 day grace period. After that the site may be suspended until payment succeeds.

Who owns my domain?

You are the intended and beneficial owner. The domain is paid for from your subscription and is not treated as VertexWeb's asset. We may manage the registrar account and DNS so we can host the site. That is technical management, not ownership. You can ask us to transfer control once invoices are current. Registrar timing is outside our control.

What happens if I leave VertexWeb?

Once invoices are settled: you keep your content (we export logos, photos, and text you supplied) and you can take your domain. You do not automatically get the hosted application, VertexWeb templates, or our infrastructure. If your order confirmation says a codebase handover applies, you can also request that copy of your site code.

Can I get my website code?

You own your content. You have domain ownership as described above. VertexWeb keeps its reusable software. Essential-style sites use a Next.js, React, and Tailwind stack. For standard new website packages, monthly payments count toward a R7,500 baseline for the custom front-end codebase (higher for complex work). Only the Essential-equivalent R799 per month accrues toward that website ownership threshold. Extra Growth or Scale service value does not accelerate code ownership. Once the threshold is met, or if you buy out the balance, you can request that codebase as a full project ZIP file, or ask us to transfer the GitHub repository to a GitHub account you nominate. Handover does not include our admin systems, portal software, Cloudflare infrastructure, or deployment pipelines.

Your site after launch

What does hosting include?

For a paid Essential, Growth, or Scale subscription: the website, Cloudflare hosting, SSL, related edge protection, maintenance, support, and the content-change allowance for that package. Growth and Scale add further managed services as listed on the pricing cards. We do not promise an enterprise uptime SLA.

How do content changes work?

On Essential, up to 50 a month sit in the retainer: text, image swaps, and similar items that use the existing layout. Growth and Scale include priority or higher ongoing update allowances. Extra pages, redesigns, or new features are quoted. Unused changes do not roll over.

What is the client portal?

A real working login at clients.vertexweb.co.za. You can check whether the site is online, view traffic summaries, see invoices, open support tickets, request add-ons, and manage account details.

Do you store my passwords?

We do not ask for personal Gmail, Facebook, WhatsApp, or banking passwords. Portal passwords are stored as hashes, never shown in plaintext to admins. VertexWeb does not have access to your current portal password. Where a third-party tool is needed, we prefer delegated or manager access.
